Are there any after market heat sinks for the xbox 360?
So here we go. Recently I’ve started having problems with my xbox 360 Elite and heating issues. The console has always been alone on a desk with nothing around it to clutter the space and cause ventilation problems. My warranty is also expired and I’ve voided it already by opening it in attempts to repair it. The problem isn’t with needing an x-clamp fix, but instead is keeping the CPU cool enough to not cause problems. I get the two left quadrants flashing red with the light code 0013 (Which I’ve found is RAM overheating). After opening it up the only way I’ve found to keep my system running more than 5 minutes is to remove the fans and turn them around, setting them directly on top of the heat sinks (both of them). Anyone know of a fix for this, or possibly an aftermarket heat sink that’s got a fan to move air better? I’d like to avoid the XCM Core Coolers if possible since they wont help the heating problem UNDER the DVD drive.
Thermalright was supposedly going to be introducing an improved heat sink called the TR-360. They showed it at Computex in June of last year and word round the net was that we would see it in August, but it’s January now and I haven’t seen it for sale anywhere.
Wish I had a better answer.
